In short, you need to follow the steps below to configure IRControl for a remote control of your home electronics.
Configure Infrared Transmitter
You need an infrared transmitter to control your devices. What we support and what are the advantages and disadvantages of each product, you will learn in the chapter Infrared Transmitter Overview .
You have to register the infrared transmitter as a device in IRControl. How it works is described in the chapter on Devices & Targets.
Add Target
For each target device (amplifier, CD player, DVD player, etc.) you have to register a target in the menu of the infrared transmitter (Device). You can find out more about this in the chapter Devices & Targets. Finally, you need the control codes of your target devices, which you can regisiter as a Command. You can find out how to do this under Devices & Targets in the chapter of the corresponding infrared transmitter.
Design layout page
You also need a page, to controll all your deviceis. You can design it yourself in the integrated layout editor. You can read more about this in the chapter Layout Pages. If you are not so artistically inclined to design something yourself, the Layout Editor also offers ready-to-use page layouts (Predefined Templates). You can find out more about that in the chapter Layout Templates.
