IRBlaster

The internal infrared trasmitter in an Android device will be controlled over a IRBlaster Gateway (if available).

Actually the IRBlaster Gateway was tested with devices from Samsung. Please keep in mind that the infrared transmitter from other manufacturers often does cummunicate not over the internal android API (ConsumerIrManager), but uses an other, proprietary interface (LG, HTC; Sony). These devices are not supported with this Gateway implementation. The IRBlaster is also not supported in the IRControl iOS App.

For accessing the internal infrared transmitter for Sony devices there is a separate Device (Sony infrared Interface)

For configuration of an IRBlaster you have first to add it as a device.

You have only to add a name and a unique ID for the Gateway.

You can add only 1 Gateway from type IRBlaster within the IRControl System.

IRBlaster Target

For each device you wand to control with the IRBlaster, you have to add it a Target at your previously registered IRBlaster device.

You have also to enter a Name and a unique ID. The Parameter IR Protocol is optional. It will be used to generate infrared sequences.

Now you have to register the infrared codes on the tab «Commands».

Add your commands by pressing the button . Enter a unique ID for the command code.

Now you have the possibility to add the control sequence as a Philips Pronto Code (ccf) or as a function definition (device, subdevice and function). But the easiest way is to learn the infread sequence by sending it with your remote control.

The control sequences you will receive from the manufacture of the device or webpages with this thema (for example Global Caché)

You can also import control sequences from a lirc file, if you have one for your device.

Parameter «Toggle» is used for some devices while sending the same control sequences multiple. This information will be included in the control sequence each second time. So the target device can recognize, that the sequence was sent again. There are only some protocols that supports this toggle feature. It is used mostly with the RC5 protocol.

With the send button you can transmit the control sequence to your target device for testing purpose.
